How Affiliate Links Work

When you click an affiliate link and purchase a product, the retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale. This commission comes from the retailer — it does not increase the price you pay. These earnings help us maintain and improve LODance as a free resource for the dance community.

Affiliate links may appear in the following areas of our site:

Affiliate links are identified with disclosure language near the link or at the top of pages that contain them.

Featured Placement in Studio Listings

Some studios appear at the top of their area's listings because LODance put them there, rather than because of anything they did. Those listings are labelled wherever they appear, and the label tells you which kind of arrangement it is:

  • Promoted by LODance — we placed the listing and the studio did not pay for it. Some of these are given to studios the founder dances at himself.
  • Sponsored — the studio paid for the placement.

Featured placement is not a judgement about quality. It is not a recommendation, it says nothing about how well a studio teaches, and it is not evidence that we have assessed them. If you are choosing between studios, it is the least useful thing on the page.

Our Commitment

We are committed to transparency and honesty. We will never recommend a product solely because of an affiliate relationship. If we wouldn't personally use or recommend a product to a friend, we won't recommend it here — regardless of potential commission.
