George Cometa

George Cometa is an American ballroom competitor, coach, and adjudicator based in the Natick–Boston area of Massachusetts, specializing in the American Smooth and American Rhythm styles. He began dancing in 2007 with the University of Connecticut Ballroom Team while earning a B.S. in molecular and cell biology, and went on to build one of the most decorated amateur records on the Northeast collegiate and amateur circuit.

His competitive honors include National Champion titles in American Smooth & Rhythm 9-Dance and American Smooth Rising Star, National Vice-Champion in American Rhythm, and a U.S. National Amateur finalist placement. He is a six-time Manhattan Amateur Classic finalist, a four-time American Smooth Championship national finalist, a three-time Harvard Invitational champion, and a two-time New York Dance Festival finalist, among other titles.

Today George is a resident instructor at Todos Dance & Fitness in Natick, Massachusetts, where he coaches social dancers, competitors, and wedding couples across Massachusetts and Connecticut. He has taught for the UConn and Northeastern University ballroom programs, led workshops for the Dance Teachers' Club of Boston, and served as a competition adjudicator. Outside the ballroom, he works as a senior scientist and project manager, bringing an analytical, detail-driven approach to his coaching.
