About this studio

Avant Dance Studio Hong Kong is an adult-focused ballet studio in Hung Hom, designed for learners at any stage of life—whether you're returning to a childhood dream or starting something entirely new. The studio offers a progressive training programme with classes across distinct levels, built around free-syllabus training and Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) exam drilling. Every class is designed specifically for young adult and adult learners.

The studio welcomes students from diverse backgrounds and levels. You'll find three core class types: Ballet Technique Classes, Ballet Pointe Classes, and RAD Classes. The studio operates across a structured weekly schedule: Monday noon to 3pm and 7pm to 10:15pm, Tuesday 7pm to 9:45pm, Wednesday 7:15pm to 9:15pm, Thursday 7:15pm to 10:15pm, Friday 7:30pm to 10:45pm, Saturday 9:45am to 2pm, and Sunday 11am to 5:30pm.

Beyond weekly classes, Avant actively encourages students to participate in group and solo competitions each year, creating opportunities for students to perform and gain performance experience. Capable students are nominated for examinations through the Royal Academy of Dance. The studio describes itself as more than just a space to improve technique—it's a platform for aspiring dancers to expand their ability and explore their potential.

Pointe work is available for students who are ready; the studio carefully selects capable students and guides them through pointe shoes fitting, preparation, breaking-in, and pointe fundamentals. Students with 1.5 or more years of continuous ballet training can inquire about pointe readiness. RAD courses require solid foundational and pointe technique, with entry-level at Intermediate Foundation and a minimum of two years of continuous training expected.

The studio is located in Unit 801C, Harbour Centre Tower 1, Hung Hom, approximately 7 minutes' walk from Whampoa Station Exit A. Classes require advance booking through the online system, which closes 30 minutes before class start. If no booking is made 30 minutes before class, that session is cancelled and announced on Facebook and Instagram.
