About this studio
B-Swing is a swing dance school in Bratislava founded in 2014. The studio runs regular dance courses, workshops, lectures, social dances and public events centred on the swing era. The teaching team includes Janči (Mgr. art.), Hanka, Klér, Peťo, Jakub, Veronika, Naty, Zuzka and Ďuri, each bringing their own approach to swing dance.
The school teaches Lindy Hop, Charleston, Solo Charleston and Collegiate Shag — all described as swing dances rather than swing being a single style. Courses run in cycles beginning in September, November, January, March and May, with new waves starting every two months (except during summer). Beginners can start with Lindy Hop 1 (a partner dance) or Solo Charleston 1 (solo). The school also offers a Performance Group, Learn the Routine classes and private lessons.
Swing dances at B-Swing are social dances, meaning partners rotate both in classes and at the studio's social events. You do not need to bring a partner to enrol — the school emphasises that you will not be alone. For pair dances, you register as either Leader or Follower. The studio maintains an active Facebook community and group to help people find dance partners.
Beyond the dance floor, B-Swing describes itself as a community united by love of swing-era dance and the joy of movement. Student testimonials mention the casual, playful atmosphere, the chance to meet people outside social bubbles, and the quality of the music. The school ran online classes during the pandemic and maintains an online radio with a vintage broadcast flavour. Classes are held at Račianska 72 in Bratislava.
