About this studio
Baila OKC is a Latin dance studio in Edmond teaching salsa, bachata, cumbia, and west-coast swing. They run group classes for all skill levels, private lessons, and a strong events programme that has brought visiting instructors and performers to Oklahoma.
The studio offers group classes in salsa (a vibrant partner dance with Caribbean roots blending Afro-Cuban rhythms and Latin jazz), bachata (a romantic style from the Dominican Republic emphasising smooth steps, hip movement, and close partner connection), cumbia (a joyful rhythmic dance from Colombia known for its side-to-side step and circular partner motion), and west-coast swing (a smooth, linear partner dance combining swing, jazz, R&B, blues, and contemporary pop). Classes are designed so you don't need a partner—the studio rotates partners during sessions. A beginner programme is available, and first-time students can save up to $30.
Private lessons are offered one-on-one with instructors including Henry Tran (salsa, bachata, Afro-Latin fusion), Stephanie Cross (salsa), Victor Campos (bachata, cumbia), Phong Nyguen (salsa, bachata), Diego Pacherrez (volunteer), Erin Clayborne (salsa, bachata), and Krystal Leyva (salsa, bachata). Several instructors speak Spanish.
The studio hosts events at Chisholm Creek Event Center. Monthly Latin dance socials run on the first Friday of each month, featuring a free beginner class followed by dancing to salsa, bachata, cumbia, and merengue music. They also run Bachata Under the Stars, a free family-friendly community event surrounded by restaurants. Past festivals and events have included the BailaOKC Festival (headliners from Dallas, New York, and Mexico; live performance by bachata artist Dani J), Raza/BailaOKC Festival (instructors from Texas, Arkansas, Kansas, New York, and the Dominican Republic), the Pinto Picasso Concert, and a Halloween Grand Opening with instructors from San Diego's Majesty in Motion.
The studio offers custom events: quinceañeras, weddings, birthdays, and corporate parties. They also have salsa and bachata performance teams for those interested in performing. Membership options are available with savings across classes and access to studio merchandise and updates.
