About this studio

Bayside Latin Dance is Melbourne's newest destination for learning Latin social dancing, hosted at the iconic Brighton Beach Bowls Club. The studio is founded by an instructor with over 20 years of experience and has been nominated for a 2026 ARV Industry Award. They've stripped away the high-pressure world of competition and performance to create a community-focused space where the emphasis is on rhythm, real connection, and having a great time.

The core offering is the Introduction to Latin Dance 4-Week Course, designed exclusively for absolute beginners with zero or little prior dance experience. Classes run on Tuesdays at 6:15pm (55 minutes) and cover Salsa, Bachata & Latin Dance fundamentals. No partner is required — the studio rotates partners throughout the class, and most people attend alone. The earlybird rate is $115 until 31 July (standard rate $135). Both August 4th and September 1st intakes are available, with strictly limited spots to ensure personalized instruction.

After the 4-week introduction, students can progress to Foundations Plus, an ongoing weekly class where the focus moves to refining timing, connection, and style through the studio's Latin Social Dancer Blueprint. The instructor guides students through fluid, effortless movement designed to build confidence for stepping onto the social Latin dance floor.

The studio attracts a mixed group of ages, singles and couples, and emphasizes a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Student feedback highlights the encouraging and patient teaching, the fun vibe, and the accessibility for those starting from scratch. Classes are held at Brighton Beach Bowls Club with ample free parking on-site and street access, plus easy public transport connections.
