About this studio

Calle De Tango teaches Argentine Tango in El Paso, with a mission to promote and preserve tango culture through personalised classes, choreographies for special events, and live performances. The studio is led by instructors with over 25 years of combined experience and multiple national and international championships.

Luisa Calle, a renowned tango dancer and instructor, is a multiple national champion in Colombia and international champion in the United States. She was Runner-Up in the Milongueros del Mundo category in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 2016, and has performed as a tango ambassador on international stages across Dubai, Canada, Germany, Spain, France, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Colombia, and the United States. She teaches with focus on elegance, connection, and refined technique of classic tango, transmitting the most traditional essence of the art form.

Stiwar Calle, a dance arts professor graduated from the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas (ASAB), is a multiple national and international champion in Colombia and a two-time world finalist at the prestigious Tango World Championship in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has represented tango on international stages in Spain, France, Italy, Germany, and the United States. His approach combines technical precision of tango with the fluidity of contemporary dance, encouraging students to discover their own expression within the structure of tango.

The studio offers group classes for beginners (Monday at 7:30 PM) and intermediate level (Thursday at 7:30 PM), private lessons for individuals or couples, choreography services for weddings and special events, and tango dance shows. In 2026, the instructors placed 1st in three categories at the SoCal Tango Championship: Tango de Pista, Vals, and Milonga, and also received the Audience Favorite Couple Award.

The studio helps match partners for group classes through a registration process that pairs dancers based on weight and height similarities, or you can join with your own partner. Students report that classes improve coordination, flexibility, and confidence, with instruction focused on attention to detail and progression.
