About this studio
Carlos Paredes and Diana Giraldo are tango world champions who began dancing together in 1998 and won the prestigious Buenos Aires world championship in 2006. They now teach tango in Nürnberg through Cultura Jacaranda, bringing their decades of competitive and performance experience to students of all levels.
Their teaching philosophy goes beyond steps. They see tango argentino as encounter, communication, and a way to meet yourself and others anew. Every embrace, movement and pause is part of a dialogue between two people. In their courses, they place special emphasis on presence, perception, and authentic connection in the dance.
Technique and body awareness form the foundation of their instruction. Good technique creates freedom. Through targeted exercises, students develop balance, musicality, and deeper understanding of tango movement. Their teaching supports both beginners and advanced dancers in developing their own expression and confidence on the dance floor.
Cultura Jacaranda also brings the community together. Their courses, workshops and milongas bring together people of different generations, cultures and experience levels. The school runs El Milongón Nürnberg—a night full of tango, encounter and passion—and hosts international guest teachers and intensive workshops. The team includes Diana Giraldo, Carlos Paredes, Vivian Arenas, and Joselyn.
