About this studio
École de Danse Mélanie Forment teaches modern jazz, danse classique and danse urbaine to children, teenagers and adults in Bordeaux. Classes are organised by age and level: young children aged 4–7 study éveil et initiation (awakening and introduction); children aged 8–11 choose from modern jazz, classical or urban dance; teenagers from 12 upwards take all-level classes; and adults from beginner to advanced are grouped by ability. Trial classes are available from September onwards.
Classes run from 45 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes depending on age and level. The studio emphasises a welcoming and family atmosphere, with qualified and passionate teachers who listen to each student. An important part of the year is the annual spectacle, held at the Pin Galant theatre, where students perform on stage. This gives students the chance to be valued, share a collective experience and create lasting memories. Parents do not attend regular classes to encourage independence, though several small performances are organised throughout the year.
Mélanie, the founder, discovered dance at age 5 and made it her vocation early. She trained in the Irène Popard Method and obtained her state diploma in jazz in 2004. She founded her own school in 2009 and continues to enrich the studio with workshops led by recognised figures in dance. Tess, a qualified teacher since 2022 who trained at the PESMD in Bordeaux, teaches alongside Mélanie with an approach based on spontaneity and transmission, drawing on urban and jazz dance backgrounds. Yvonne teaches classical dance to children and holds a diploma from the Fédération Française Sports Pour Tous; she combines pilates and dance with techniques including hypopressive abs, postural alignment and stretching for full-body work and overall wellbeing.
The studio offers stages (intensive workshops) and can host private events including birthday parties and spectacles. A hall is also available for rental. New modern jazz and urban dance slots were added for the 2026 season. Enrolment for 2026–27 opens on 1 June.

Yvonne, holding a Fédération Française Sports Pour Tous diploma, teaches classical dance to children and combines pilates with dance technique.
