Dennis Cante Tango Academy teaches authentic Argentine Tango to dancers at all levels in Woodland Hills. The academy is run by instructors Dennis Cante and Tanya Spektor, who have performed and taught at Tango schools and festivals locally, nationally, and internationally.
The academy offers two distinct programs. The Beginner Program is designed for those new to Tango and covers fundamental techniques, steps, and musicality. You will learn basic movements, partner connection, and the essential rhythms of Tango, with focus on building confidence on the social dance floor. The Intermediate & Advanced Program is for experienced dancers seeking to explore complex sequences, improvisational techniques, and traditional Tango values and etiquette (códigos). Both programs are guided by the academy's teaching principle: "Connection, technique, and musicality."
Learning formats include group classes, private lessons, and intensive workshops. The academy also offers private coaching for dancers preparing for performances or events, and bespoke wedding choreography tailored to each couple's vision.
Beyond classes, the academy hosts Milonga Gavito, a monthly social dance event held on the first Friday of each month at Motivo L.A. in Atwater Village (3509 Casitas Ave, CA 90039). The milonga features DJs playing traditional tango music in a friendly atmosphere designed for social dancers.
The academy is also available for private events, where they can perform and teach, bringing Argentine Tango to your occasion.
