Easy Al's Ballroom Class meets Thursday evenings with separate beginner (6–7pm) and intermediate-advanced (7–8pm) sessions at $10 cover per person, and includes dinner. Mr. Smooth's Ballroom Class runs Tuesday evenings from 6–8pm for beginners to advanced, $10 per person or $15 per couple. Sherry Gordon teaches Chicago Step on Thursday evenings from 6–7pm at $15 per person. All classes are followed by open dance sessions; ballroom classes include dancing until 11pm, and Chicago Step is followed by open dancing from 7–9pm at $5 per person.
Beyond classes, Ears Showplace hosts special events catering to mature dancers. Events like "Smooth & Easy: For the Love of Ballroom" form part of the Preserving Detroit Urban Ballroom Series. The venue is designed as a social space where people come to dance, enjoy live music, eat food prepared by the kitchen staff, and meet others who share an interest in dance.
The Showplace rents its banquet halls for private events: the upper level holds up to 175 people, and the lower level up to 275. Friday rentals are free with a 50-person minimum for the upper hall. The venue operates a cash bar with no BYOB policy, and catering is available. The studio also sells Easy Al Instructional DVDs for beginners, intermediate, and advanced dancers at $30 per set.

You'll find a welcoming social atmosphere. Classes are taught at all levels, followed by open dancing and a chance to connect with other dancers. Dinner is included with Thursday ballroom classes.
