About this studio

ehrenfeldstudios e.V. is a non-profit arts centre in Köln-Ehrenfeld dedicated to dance and performance. The space occupies 400 square metres of a former industrial hall, containing a 160 square-metre studio, an 80 square-metre studio, generous changing rooms with showers, toilets, a foyer, storage, offices, and a covered courtyard that serves as a gathering space. Both studios are barrier-free accessible.

The organisation's artistic focus is intergenerational work. They run several ongoing formats: THE AGEING BODY – Generation+ offers movement for people over 55; MEGA – Kids & Teens provides cultural education and workshops for young people, exploring themes of belonging, adaptation and uniqueness; COMMUNITY ARTS brings together workshops and jam sessions for specific communities, including sessions for people with Parkinson's symptoms, the LGBTQ+ community, women, people of all cultures, and blind and partially-sighted dancers alongside sighted participants; and IMPROVISATION workshops. The LOOK guest-performance series, under artistic direction of choreographer Silke Z., presents four dance premieres annually from across Germany, with 2026 focusing on choreographies from feminist perspectives.

The resident companies include Silke Z. resistdance, carolinesimon cie.nomoreless, Emanuele Soavi incompany, Konnective performing:group, BAAL, and Ido Grinberg. The venue hosts its own productions under the AUSGEFLOGEN series and international work.

Ticket pricing uses a sliding scale: adults 10–22€ (you choose within the range), children 5€, accompanying persons free, and dance students with valid ID 6€. Group and school bookings are available. The studios are available for rental by outside groups: the small studio at 18€/hour or 134€/day for rehearsals, 38€/hour or 250€/day for classes; the large studio at 24€/hour or 154€/day for rehearsals, 55€/hour or 320€/day for classes. The organisation is actively working towards greater digital accessibility and welcomes support through membership.
