Espaces des Arts is a studio rental operation in the heart of Montreal's Quartier Des Spectacles. Unlike a traditional teaching studio, they rent dance spaces to artists, teachers, students, choreographers, and others for group classes, private classes, rehearsals, video shoots, and dance-related activities.
The facility houses seven studios of varying sizes, all with hardwood floors. The smallest is TATE (23' × 19', 437 sq ft), suitable for intimate work. Mid-range options include UFFIZI (31' × 19', 589 sq ft), MET-A (25' × 28', 700 sq ft), and LOUVRE (21' × 34', 714 sq ft). The largest is MET-AB (44' × 28', 1,232 sq ft), ideal for bigger ensembles. Each space can be booked for private or group rates, and tables and chairs are available on request.
Hours are Monday to Friday 12:00–22:00 and Saturday–Sunday 10:30–20:00. Payment must be made at reception before entering a studio; cash, Visa, and Mastercard are accepted. Cancellation or modification within 24 hours incurs the full rental fee, but changes made more than 24 hours in advance are free. Recurring bookings and larger reservations (over $100) require a contract and deposit.
Photography and video are allowed with authorisation; auditions and photo/video sessions are charged at group rates. Prohibited materials include powder, sand, flour, resin, oil, hair spray, gel, candles, incense, fire, and smoke machines without permission. Off-hours rental carries a minimum rate of $50 per hour.
