About this studio
GD Tango is run by Guillermo De Fazio and Giovanna Dan, internationally celebrated Argentine tango performers and choreographers based in Los Angeles. Guillermo was born and raised in Buenos Aires and rose to international fame as one half of Los Hermanos Macana, the legendary tango duo whose dynamic performances brought Argentine tango to global stages. Giovanna, raised in Los Angeles and daughter of Forever Tango star Zita Gonzalez, holds a Bachelor's degree in Dance Studies from UCLA and is recognized as one of the first women to specialize in the gaucho percussion act of boleadoras, a traditionally male-dominated art form.
Together, Guillermo and Giovanna have built an extraordinary performance career. They choreographed for ABC's Dancing with the Stars, produced and starred in the award-winning theatrical production Once Upon a Tango at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, and performed in PBS specials including Tango Under the Stars at the Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. In 2022, they directed and starred in Tango Argentina, a major U.S. tour spanning 26 cities, which continued with a large-scale Korean tour in 2025. Their original work Un Viaje Por Buenos Aires premiered at the Ford Theatre in Los Angeles in 2024. They have also held extended performance residencies in Dubai.
When not touring, GD Tango offers both private lessons and group instruction in Sherman Oaks. They specialise in teaching "Tango Salon" for social dancing as well as "Tango Escenario" for performances and competitions. Group lessons and practica take place on Sundays at 14801 Ventura Boulevard, Sherman Oaks, with the lesson running from 5:00 to 6:00 PM followed by practica from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. The studio emphasises a progressive approach designed to strengthen individual technique and connection while allowing dancers to participate at their own pace.

You'll join a Sunday lesson from 5:00 to 6:00 PM taught by Guillermo and Giovanna, followed by practica (social dancing) from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. The programme is designed to build technique and connection progressively, welcoming dancers to work at their own pace.

Guillermo, born in Buenos Aires, is a world-renowned performer and choreographer who co-founded Los Hermanos Macana and has performed in major films and theatres worldwide. Giovanna, a UCLA Dance Studies graduate, brings extensive training across multiple dance styles and is known for her versatility and expressive strength.

Studio history
Guillermo De Fazio was born and raised in Buenos Aires and debuted professionally in 1995 as one half of Los Hermanos Macana, performing in prominent theatres worldwide and appearing in films including Robert Duvall's Assassination Tango. He moved to Los Angeles in 2012 when Los Hermanos Macana founded their entertainment company Tango Macho. Since partnering professionally with Giovanna in 2015, he has been producing, choreographing, and directing shows through GD Tango.
