The school was founded in summer 2021 by Sunny and Viola, who built it around a simple mission: to create a friendly, welcoming and relaxed environment where students can learn, connect and have a good time.
Bachata is the school's flagship style. Classes run on Saturdays across four levels: beginners (19:00–19:50), improvers (20:00–20:50), intermediate/advanced (21:00–21:50), and Esencia Nights—a social block from 22:00–3:00. The school represents the World Bachata Champions Marco & Sara's Grupo Esencia, bringing the latest bachata trends and techniques to Glasgow. For those wanting to go deeper, Grupo Esencia Glasgow is a performance team open to dedicated students who want to learn choreographies by the world champions and take their potential to the next level.
Kizomba classes currently run on Tuesdays with beginner (19:30–20:20) and improver (20:30–21:20) options. The school holds the distinction of being one of the first kizomba schools in Glasgow and the only one in Scotland teaching UrbanKiz and Kiz Fusion—styles the instructors identify as having shaped their own approach. Classes are described as friendly, fun and free of stress.
Beyond weekly classes, Sunny and Viola organize Be Sensual, large dance parties that bring world-class bachata, kizomba and salsa teachers to Glasgow. These events combine class workshops with all-night socials, creating a fuller experience for dancers committed to the community.
