About this studio
Havana Salsa is an award-winning Cuban dance school established in the UK over 15 years ago. The school teaches Cuban Salsa across multiple UK venues, including Nottingham, with classes almost every night of the week in city centre locations.
Cuban Salsa is derived from earlier dance forms including Son, mambo and cha cha cha. The style is known for being relaxed, passionate and expressive, allowing your personality to shine through the dance steps. Havana Salsa was founded to introduce Cuban Salsa, Cuban culture, food, music and Spanish language to students across the UK.
The school is led by Rodolfo and his wife Laura, supported by a team of trained instructors from across the globe. Classes are taught by highly trained dance instructors in a fun and friendly atmosphere. All classes are carefully structured to help you learn quickly, socialise, and have fun. Beginner, intermediate and advanced classes are available at each venue, with something for every level.
Havana Salsa runs structured 7-week courses designed for real progression rather than random combinations. Across seven weeks you'll build solid foundations in Cuban Salsa: rhythm and timing, connection, lead/follow basics, core steps, simple turns and how to move comfortably to Cuban music. The syllabus is designed so every lesson builds naturally on what you've learned previously. After completing the beginner course, improver and intermediate levels are available, allowing continued progression through Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4 (Advanced).
The school runs regular monthly social parties throughout the UK where you can practise what you've learned while enjoying great music and a fantastic atmosphere. Havana Salsa also hosts the UK's biggest New Year Latin festival, which includes three days of Cuban and Latin workshops, classes, live music, international artist performances and social dancing in Birmingham. Additional services include private salsa classes, corporate workshops, wedding dance choreography, and salsa classes for schools.

Your first visit
Your first class starts with very simple steps and plenty of encouragement. Classes are upbeat and practical, with partner rotation throughout the evening so you'll meet people and learn faster. No dance experience or partner is needed — instructors pace things sensibly, keep instructions clear, and celebrate small wins. You'll leave knowing real steps you can use.
