About this studio
Kizomba Club Hungary began in 2010 when Nagy Tamás encountered kizomba at a West African cultural festival abroad. He shared what he learned with Farkas Veronika, and under the mentorship of Pedro Tomás Petchú, they launched the Yeskizomba event series in May 2011, organised with Tóth Zoltán. The success of those events led directly to Hungary's first kizomba courses, also in May 2011. By summer 2012, the number of dancers had grown so rapidly that the founders decided to establish the club formally.
The studio teaches five styles: Kizomba (rooted in West African Portuguese colonial culture), Tarraxa (a substyle of kizomba, debated by some as a distinct form), Urban Kiz (a style that originated primarily in France and gained international popularity through social media), Semba (part of Angolan folklore), and Tarraxo Douceur. Classes run from beginner through advanced levels.
The teaching team includes Kelemen Edmund, Mándrik Lilla, Szabó Rita, Falusy Éva, Takács Délia Mónika, Kéri Anita Mónika, Tóth Beáta, Gombár Gergő, Fülemile Tibor, Kónya Gergely, and Kertész Miklós (listed as cultural attaché). Many instructors describe lifelong connections to dance and music; several discovered kizomba in 2017 or later and moved into teaching roles.
The club organises regular courses and events, with classes available throughout the week at varying levels. The studio also publishes reflections and personal accounts from students and teachers about kizomba culture and practice. An active social calendar includes parties and social gatherings for the kizomba community.

Studio history
Kizomba Club Hungary was founded in 2011 by Nagy Tamás, Farkas Veronika and Tóth Zoltán after Tamás learned kizomba at a West African cultural festival.
