About this studio
La Candela is a cultural café and arts space in the Saint-Cyprien neighbourhood of Toulouse. By day, it hosts a range of classes and workshops centred on movement and creative expression. When evening arrives, the space transforms into a live venue: music, theatre, cinema, dance performances and other gatherings fill the room under candlelit intimacy. The whole operation is run by volunteers who staff both the daytime activities and evening events, supported by a small in-house kitchen and local drinks selection.
The space offers dance classes throughout the year, with open days each September (7–12 September) featuring free demonstrations and introductions to the different dance styles taught there. These open days are entirely free and drop-in. Beyond regular classes, La Candela hosts ticketed evening events — recent and upcoming performances include QUIMERA DE INVIERNO (23 October) and others listed on their events calendar.
La Candela also rents its space to external groups and artists. The venue operates on a non-profit model: it exists to serve the cultural life and leisure of the Saint-Cyprien district and wider Toulouse, sustained by volunteer effort rather than commercial operation. Food and drink are available on-site, and card payment is now accepted at the bar.
