About this studio
La Fábrica del Tango is Tampere's first school dedicated to Argentine tango and Argentine folklore. The studio teaches Argentine tango (including tango, milonga, and waltz), Argentine folklore, and also offers classes in other dance styles. The studio runs regular Thursday tango wish classes (request-focused sessions) open to beginners and experienced dancers alike. Intensive workshops run alongside the regular schedule: a recent example is the TodoTango weekend on 29–30 August covering colgadas and volcadas (axis tilts), a mid-intermediate topic using tango nuevo terminology. A foundational Argentine tango course runs in August and targets anyone wanting to try partner dance, whether new or already experienced. The school also hosts the Tampere Tango Festival (11–13 September) and Tango y Folklore Weekend events.
The studio space includes gender-neutral toilet facilities, a changing room for women, and an additional unisex changing room. Instructors are receptive to feedback and accessibility requests. The school also arranges body care classes either directly or through partners. The studio offers dance hall rental for other teachers and organisations, and runs a newsletter with updates on the school's programme and events.
