Lines Dance Academy LLC

Lines Dance Academy is a family-owned studio with two locations in Downtown Portland and Hillsboro, Oregon. Founded on a passion for Latin dance, the academy has been operating for 25 years under the direction of Anita Villaraldo, a native of Puebla, Mexico, who arrived in Oregon at age 16 and has built a worldwide-recognized dance program.

The studio teaches all ages across five core styles: Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, Cumbia, and Fusion Latino, alongside Danza Folklorico instruction. Class offerings include Bachata Flow and Salsa Flow programs, which provide structured progression pathways for students. Both the Hillsboro and Portland locations offer classes with detailed schedules available through ZenPlanner calendars.

Lines Dance Academy has won over 30 prestigious Latin Dance titles from international competitions and hosts some of the most recognizable names in modern Latin dance. The studio has developed world-class dancers through its strong youth programs, which emphasize leadership skills and personal confidence alongside technical dance training.

Beyond weekly classes, the academy offers private dance lessons and hosts special events. The studio is known for working closely with the Latino community and has become a center for Quinceañera celebrations, helping young women mark this milestone with professional choreography and instruction. Private events and weddings are also part of their service offering.

Classes run at both the Hillsboro and Portland locations with structured progression tracks for Bachata and Salsa. You'll find instruction across multiple Latin styles taught by experienced instructors in a community-focused environment.

The studio's teaching team includes Anita Villaraldo (director), Mere Gonzalez, Bryant Ayala, Tania Herrera, Brandon Ayala, Alexa Ray, Kayla Téllez, Iñaki Villanueva-Torres, Jeffrey Velez, Leah Leon Phifer, Colleen Carris, and Paloma Laguna.
