About this studio

Maranatha School of Dance & the Arts was founded in 1965 by Paula Himschoot. The name comes from Aramean Hebrew meaning "Come Lord Jesus". The studio operates from a facility at 822 Del Prado Blvd S in Cape Coral and offers dance and music instruction in a Christ-centered environment.

The facility includes four dance studios, each with custom raised flooring designed to minimise impact on dancers' bodies. Three of the four studios feature industry-standard marley dance floors. Each room is equipped with floor-length mirrors, ballet barres, and professional equipment. TV monitors in the lobby allow families to watch their child's classes. A Maranatha Boutique and Mini-Cafe located at the front desk area stocks dance attire, accessories, drinks and snacks.

Maranatha's mission is to provide high-quality training that nurtures each student, whether they study for fun or train to pursue professional careers. The studio is committed to instilling confidence, inspiring character, and impacting community. Classes include both daytime and homeschool options, with registration for Fall 2026/2027 now open and classes beginning the week of August 17th. The studio also offers group and private piano lessons for students age 4 and up, taught by caring instructors in the Centre for the Arts, a fully equipped studio featuring five Yamaha Portable Grand Pianos.

Maranatha presents an annual theater production and hosts a spring recital. The studio runs "Maranatha On The Move" and offers private lesson signups, a "Momentum Company" leveled program, and is now a Direct Pay provider on the Step Up for Students EMA Marketplace, approved for all Dance, Theater, and Music Classes. Students and families are not required to share the studio's Christian faith, though the basis of faith includes prayer before classes, monthly discipleship themes, and tasteful, modest costumes with carefully selected music.
