Owner and director Chelsey Owen has over 20 years of teaching experience and is proficient in both leading and following. She is passionate about developing strong technical foundations and body awareness while fostering creativity, self-expression and confidence through partner dance.
Group classes run in progressive training cycles, allowing you to train with the same group at a similar skill level each week. The schedule includes Level 1 Salsa On2 and Level 1 Bachata on Sundays (1pm–2pm and 2pm–3pm), Open Level Bachata Musicality and Traditional Bachata Partnerwork on Tuesdays, Open Level Salsa Musicality and Level 4 Bachata Partnerwork on Wednesdays, and Open Level Salsa On2 Footwork and Partnerwork on Thursdays. Private lessons accommodate individuals or pairs for 50 minutes and cover Salsa (On2 & On1) and Bachata (Traditional, Modern, Sensual).
Beyond regular classes, Meraki runs two recurring monthly socials. Viva by Meraki happens the third Friday of each month at Charr'd at the Louisville Marriott East, featuring a beginner class at 8pm followed by open dancing until 11:45pm. Candela by Meraki takes place the first Friday of each month at Molly Malone's Baxter, with an open level class at 8:15pm and dancing until 1am. The studio also offers corporate event instruction, wedding choreography, and custom private group lessons. The teaching team includes Sabrina Sorelle (Kentucky-based instructor with a focus on helping beginners feel safe and confident) and Tiffany Estep (Ohio-based instructor).
