Montuno Club runs weekly Salsa Cubana classes at Buena Vista Bar in Munich's city centre, plus regular parties and outdoor events. The philosophy is radical: dance should be accessible to everyone, regardless of budget, experience, or whether you have a partner. Sunday classes range from free beginner sessions (Salsa from Zero) to 2-month Casino courses at beginner and intermediate level. You don't need to sign up in advance — just show up at Buena Vista Bar on Sunday at 18:00 for the free class, or 19:00 onwards for the casino courses. Classes also run Monday and Thursday evenings, all teaching Salsa from Zero.

Each class focuses on one move, taught with lots of repetition and partner rotation so you meet other dancers. After the lesson ends, the music stays on and you practice what you learned or simply enjoy the social atmosphere. The venue is a bar, not a studio, which keeps the vibe relaxed and social — you can grab a drink if you like, and there's no dress code or pressure.

Instructor Alex has trained in Salsa Cubana for over 7 years, including time in Cuba where the dance originated. He founded Montuno Club to create a low-pressure entry point to dancing without expensive studio packages. His teaching emphasises fun first: mistakes are part of the dance, and the focus is on building a community where everyone belongs.

Beyond the weekly classes, Montuno Club runs the Rueda Mission: a campaign to bring Rueda de Casino (the partner circle dance) to Munich at scale. Once or twice a year they organise the biggest Rueda de Casino in the city, taking over Stachus with hundreds of dancers. Every Saturday at 14:00 they practise in the open air, rotating between spots like Diana Tempel in the Hofgarten and other parks around Munich — free, no signup. Flash mobs and surprise appearances complete the Rueda work.

The club also hosts the Sunday Bar Crawl, a guided social dance through Munich's old town starting outside Hofbräuhaus at 17:00. You learn moves, dance in a circle, and visit bars serving mojitos and daiquiris (free entry, you buy drinks). Monday evenings bring the Havana Beach Party, an open-air summer edition running 19:00–24:00 in the Englischer Garten, with a free beginner class from 20:00–21:00 and live percussion from 20:00–24:00. The club also hosts one-off events: past programmes have included workshops with Cuban dancers and visiting timba bands.

Walk into Buena Vista Bar on Sunday at 18:00 with no signup required. Grab a drink if you like. The free class teaches one move from scratch with repetition and partner rotation so you meet other dancers. After the lesson, the music continues and you practise or socialise at your own pace.
