About this studio
Nou Tango Berlin is a dance school and cultural space dedicated to Argentine tango in Berlin Mitte. The studio teaches tango organically, in a relaxed atmosphere, without requiring you to memorise step sequences. You can attend as a single person, with a partner, dancing either or both roles, or as someone with special needs — if you find joy in tango and bring respect for your dance partner, you belong here.
The school runs weekly Fundamentals courses from Monday to Friday with no registration required; you simply arrive and participate. Weekend and holiday workshops require advance registration due to limited capacity. The studio also hosts milongas (tango social dance events) including Cafe Dominguez and the Friday milonga, both running on public holidays except 24 December. The school emphasises role flexibility: in Singles courses, dancers switch partners every two songs, and you can learn and dance both leading and following roles.
The team comprises people from seven different countries who have each taken different paths through tango — some dancing from childhood, others discovering it as adults. All share the aim of bringing joy in dance and life, and helping you find your own path in tango. For people with special needs or in particular life circumstances, the studio offers inclusive and therapeutic courses and workshops.
Tango here is presented as accessible to any age and body type. You do not need to be particularly athletic, flexible, or musically talented; the school draws on 20 years of experience teaching all abilities. There is no dress code — wear what makes you comfortable and allows you to move well. Class costs run on a sliding scale: weekly courses from Monday to Friday cost 15–25 euros per person, and you choose where within that range you can and want to pay.
