About this studio
Salsa Bristol is one of the South West region's longest-running salsa and Latin dance schools, operating for 18 years. The studio teaches students from all walks of life and ages (from 18 to 70s), and has worked beyond regular classes at charity events, primary schools, and even with Red Arrows pilots.
Classes run on Monday evenings at Imperial Sports Ground in Hengrove, South Bristol. You can join a Beginners Course (8 weeks, £55 or £40), a Beginners Plus Course designed to bridge the gap between beginner and improvers level, Improvers Classes, or Intermediate Classes. All classes teach salsa technique including Mambo, Rumba, Back Step, Walk Turn, Cross Body, and Cross Body Lead with an outside Turn. Drop-in is available for improvers and intermediate classes at £8 per session. You don't need a partner or prior experience.
Salsa Bristol was among the first to introduce a "jumpers" course—now called Beginners Plus—to help dancers progress beyond the initial 8-week beginner stage. The studio also runs bi-monthly salsa and Latin party nights, private lessons for individuals and groups, and special events. Gift certificates are available.
The Imperial Sports Ground sits just off the A37 on the border of Hengrove and Brislington. On-site parking is floodlit and monitored by cameras; an overflow car park is also available on Hither Bath Bridge (note: closes around 10 pm). Public transport options include bus routes 2, 2A, 376, and 172. The venue has a fully stocked bar on the ground floor with a Pizza and Panini menu available until 9 pm.

Studio history
Salsa Bristol has been running for 18 years as one of the South West region's longest-running salsa and Latin dance schools. The founder recognised how difficult the jump from beginners to improvers could be, and the studio was among the first to introduce a bridging course (now called Beginners Plus) to ease that progression.
