Before your first class
Beginners are warmly welcome with no previous dance experience needed; each class has a separate beginner teacher and the group will pair you with other dancers if you arrive without a partner.

About this studio
Cambridge Cuban Salsa runs weekly classes and social dancing on Sundays from 19:30 at Adélie Studios, 121 Chesterton Road. Each Sunday session includes a one-hour class followed by social dancing with DJ Sacha until 22:30.
Sunday classes focus on Casino Cuban Salsa partnerwork, musicality and styling. Two separate teachers deliver beginners and progressive levels in parallel. Beginners learn basic footwork, bodywork, lead/follow and musicality. The progressive class starts easy then gradually raises the challenge, covering basic casino moves, more complex combinations, footwork, bodywork, lead/follow, musicality, AfroCuban and Rumba. You do not need a partner to attend — the group will pair you with other dancers.
The teaching team is fully trained and insured. DJ Sacha is the lead instructor who has trained intensively with top international salsa teachers including Alberto Valdez, Yeni Molinet and Luanda Pau. He fell in love with Cuban salsa in 2004 and began teaching in 2008, developing a teaching style inspired by Cuban traditions, martial arts and mindfulness. Kellie has trained since early 2013 and attended international festivals including RuedaFest and SBK; she is known for clear explanations and footwork choreographies. Rachel joined in 2017 and brings an extensive ballet background plus intensive AfroCuban training as a student of Luanda Pau's Performance Group. Luanda Pau herself, a Cuban master who trained at Havana's National School of Arts and danced professionally with Conjunto Folklorico Nacional de Cuba, is invited to deliver workshops and ensures the classes meet the highest Cuban dancing and teaching standards.
The venue is well ventilated with a high quality sound system. Parking is free on Sunday evenings along Chesterton Road and surrounding streets; bicycle racks are available just outside. The entrance door is between Office Outlet and Gopuff, with the studio upstairs.
No previous dance experience is needed and no special dress code applies — just wear comfortable shoes. The classes are structured around your own progress, with no competition or pressure; you move at your own rhythm for personal growth and enjoyment while making new friends.

Studio history
DJ Sacha fell in love with Cuban salsa in 2004 and decided to share that passion in 2008, when he began teaching and developed his unique style informed by Cuban traditions, martial arts and mindfulness. The group has since built a teaching team trained with referenced professional masters, regularly bringing in workshops from Luanda Pau, a Cuban master who settled in the UK in 2017.
