Salsa For Life runs weekly salsa classes at St Andrew's C of E Primary School on Belfast Street in Hove, during school term on Wednesdays. Two back-to-back sessions cater to different levels: 4:30–5:30 pm is Open Level Rueda de Casino (Cuban salsa circle dance), followed by 5:30–6:15 pm Beginner Salsa. Both classes cover fundamentals of leading and following, with a focus on weight transfer, connection and frame. No partner or prior experience is needed.
The studio was born from a practical starting point: when Hannah's colleagues at St Andrew's Primary asked to learn salsa for staff wellbeing, classes began. That initial request grew into a lasting commitment. The instructors combine a shared love of Latin dance with a background in education, and their teaching approach emphasises building skills step by step with clear instruction that breaks down each move to clarify concepts and techniques.
Each class offers a full-body workout that improves cardio, balance and coordination. The environment is built on community connection: salsa fosters trust and social confidence in a welcoming dance setting. Sessions are held in the school's small hall—enter via the big wooden gates on the right side of the building and turn immediately left to find the studio.
Classes run only during school term, with doors opening at 4:20 pm. The cost is £5 cash or card for either one or both sessions. Comfortable, non-grip shoes, water and a positive attitude are all you need to bring. Under-18s are welcome with a parent or legal guardian.
