About this studio

Salsaché is a salsa school founded in Nottingham in 2012 by Tamba, a world-renowned international salsa teacher, performer and dancer. The school's philosophy is rooted in the concept of Aché — divine grace, knowledge, wisdom, and the life force that gives us strength and power. Tamba believes every person has the ability to dance authentically, and Salsaché exists to make dancing accessible to as many people as possible.

The school runs regular group classes three nights a week across two venues. Tuesday and Wednesday classes take place at The Greenway Centre, Trent Lane, Sneinton (with free parking), while Thursday classes are held at Summers In Time Dance Studio, 382 Gedling Rd. Classes are typically one hour long and organised in monthly courses, allowing you to progress at your own pace. There's no need to book in advance, and you can drop in for a single session if you prefer.

Tuesday classes focus on Cuban Salsa and Rueda (also called the Salsa Wheel), with four separate class blocks starting at 7:30 pm for absolute beginners, progressing through intermediate levels, and culminating in a Rueda class. Wednesday offers Crossbody Salsa On1, Chachacha, and Mambo for improvers and intermediate dancers. Thursday's Crossbody Salsa classes run from 7:45 pm and are designed around monthly courses, concentrating on foundations, body movement, and essential technique. A mini-social follows Tuesday classes, giving you a chance to practise what you've learned in a relaxed setting.

No partner is required — many students come alone and rotate partners during class. The school also offers private lessons for individuals or couples, online classes, and hosts regular social events including The Salsa Romántica Fiesta party series. The teaching philosophy emphasises fun and connection; testimonials consistently mention Tamba's infectious sense of humour, passion for dance, and ability to create a welcoming, supportive environment where students of all ages and backgrounds feel at ease.
