Sensual City focuses entirely on Bachata, with a mission to grow the Bachata dance scene in the Philadelphia area. Their main studio sits at 2700 W Girard Ave in Brewerytown, above Fulton Bank. They've trained with world-class instructors including Daniel y Desiree and Korke y Judith, whom they brought to Philadelphia in 2024.
Class offerings range from absolute beginner through advanced. Beginners learn the fundamentals with no partner required; intermediate classes are open to those who've danced more than a year and mastered the basics. Ladies Styling classes build styling repertoire and confidence. The Bachata Prestige Dancers Advanced Program runs Thursday evenings (8–10PM) for advanced intermediate dancers, with a Sensual Scholar option offering up to 50% off tuition for those who qualify. Saturday Sensual Bootcamps vary week to week—BodyRoll, Ladies Styling, Men's Styling, or Choreo—and run for 90 minutes at all levels.
A unique offering is Bachata Barre & Pole Fusion, which combines flexibility, strength conditioning, and fitness with Bachata music using ballet and pole technique. The facility also hosts a kids programme through Infinity Center (ballet, modern, acrobatics) and a full-time pole practice studio through Seduction Dance Studio.
Weekly schedule includes Tuesday and Wednesday beginner classes, Wednesday intermediate, Thursday prestige programme, and Saturday bootcamps. First Sundays feature a daytime social called "Bachata con Café" (2–5PM), which pairs complimentary lessons with brunch-style socialising. Every Saturday night the studio runs "Sensual Saturdays"—a weekly Bachata social with complimentary beginner and intermediate classes, music, and dancing in a festival-like atmosphere. They also host special weekend events; the Philly Bachata Day, a two-day showcase of local talent, is scheduled for March. The studio welcomes private lesson requests and can offer classes at partner locations throughout Philadelphia and New Jersey.
