About this studio
So French Café opened in 2023 with a focus on organic, eco-friendly dining in the Sarasota area. The café serves crêpes, salads and sandwiches on compostable plates made from compressed palm tree leaves. Beyond food, the business hosts Latin social dancing every Saturday night.
Each Saturday, the venue opens at 7:30pm for food and drinks. At 7:45pm, a complimentary beginners' dance class runs before the main social event. The class covers Salsa, Bachata or Kizomba and is taught by Naty & Charly GRooViN from Paris. This approach welcomes complete beginners alongside experienced dancers.
The main event runs from 9:15pm to midnight and features the SBK Afrolatin social dance with DJ Charly, who mixes Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and more. Admission is $10 and includes both the beginner class and access to the social dancing. Food service continues throughout the evening with hot sandwiches, salads, bakery items and pastries. No outside alcohol is permitted.
The café also offers private classes in Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba by arrangement. The business operates Wednesday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm for daytime café service, with Saturday nights dedicated to the Latin dancing programme.
