About this studio
Spokane Salsa teaches salsa, mambo, bachata, cha cha cha, casino rueda, and kizomba to dancers of all levels in downtown Spokane. The studio is run by Jim Renn, a resident Spokane salsero who describes himself as passionate about dancing and serious about training rather than claiming to be an expert. The space is located in the Bank of America Financial Center at 601 W Riverside Ave.
Classes welcome newcomers discovering what the studio calls "the Addiction" alongside experienced dancers working to improve technique and musicality. Jim emphasises placing each student in a class that fits their level and current ability. The studio is dedicated to promoting salsa music and dance in the Inland Northwest.
The Bank of America Financial Center is a secure building with doors locked after 6pm. Class participants meet 20 minutes before each session at the south side of the building via the big double glass doorway on the Sprague side between Howard and Wall. Street parking is usually available on Howard or Sprague; the studio recommends parking south of the building toward 1st and 2nd avenues, where meters run until 7pm. Security guards patrol the building around the clock but will not admit latecomers without Jim present, so punctuality is essential — if you arrive late, you will miss class.
