About this studio
Studio Acostango teaches Argentine tango in the heart of Vienna's 5th district, at Schönbrunner Str. 58/10. The studio runs a full weekly schedule of classes and social dances, with drop-in options most nights and a beginner class on Tuesdays.
Classes span multiple styles and levels. Mondays offer Milongero-Style (open level), followed by an Afterwork Milonga running from 8 pm to 10 pm. Tuesdays include a Beginner class at 7 pm and Solo Technique for both roles at 8 pm (open level). Wednesdays feature Tango Nuevo (open level) and the Mil Pasos Milonga (modern style, 8 pm–midnight). Fridays bring Folklore (registration required, 6 pm), Tango Salon (open level, 7 pm), and Ladies Technique & More (open level, 8–9:30 pm). Saturdays host thematic workshops (intermediate/advanced, partner required) at 7 pm, followed by the ACOSTANGO Milonga (traditional, 8:30 pm–midnight). A new Stage Tango course for intermediate and advanced students is coming in 2026, running Wednesdays 6:30–8 pm for 10 weeks.
The studio occupies approximately 100 square metres with a large mirror front, sound system, and a bar/counter in an adjoining room. Changing rooms and toilets are available. The space is regularly hired for dance workshops, acoustic concerts, photography shoots and video production.
Acostango hosts regular milongas and special events. A Welcome Back Milonga is scheduled for 4 July 2026. Past highlights include the CONTRAPUNTO Milonga (9 May) featuring live music from orchestras Malablo and Duo Double Wu, and singer Viktoria Tsanava, as well as a birthday and studio anniversary celebration on 7 February 2026. The studio also offers performance tango (show tango bookings available) and stocks Madam Pivot tango shoes.
What to expect
Your first visit
Drop-in classes run most evenings, 7–9:30 pm, with beginner-friendly options on Tuesdays. After many classes, a milonga (social dance) follows, typically 8 pm to midnight. Expect a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere focused on Argentine tango in all its styles.
