About this studio
Studio des Bains has been teaching dance in Geneva since 1997, built on a founding principle that dancing should be a pleasure, not a pressure. The studio distinguishes itself by assembling a team of passionate teachers—most of whom are active performers who teach alongside their own stage work. The studio makes a point of welcoming everyone regardless of age or body type, and explicitly rejects the overcrowding and judgment that characterises many dance schools. Class sizes are kept manageable to ensure precise teaching. You won't be pushed to take any minimum number of classes per week, and if you miss a session you can make it up using a makeup-class voucher system.
Courses run across the week with lunchtime and evening slots. Monday offers Classique with Amandine. Tuesday brings Feel Good with Licia. Thursday has HiP-Hop Commercial with Rachel. Friday features Gym Dos with Alain, led by danseur, chorégraphe and teacher Alain Gagliardi using playful exercises—an alternative to physiotherapy visits. All classes are taught at all levels. The gym-dos course is covered by some insurance companies up to 50% of annual costs.
Every two years the studio puts on a performance. Participation is optional; it's framed as a celebration and reward for work done, never a demand that compromises your studies or professional life. The studio takes pride in the quality and organisation of these shows.
The studio sits on the second floor at Esplanade de Pont-Rouge 2 in Grand-Lancy, Geneva. The CEVA tram stop is one minute away, and parking is nearby. Enrolment is open year-round. Summer intensives are offered. The studio also runs a summer programme of classes and stages.
