About this studio
El Navegador is an Argentine tango school in central Warsaw, run by instructors Maria and Nazar on Nowy Świat. The school teaches Argentine tango only—no other styles—but within that scope covers tango, tango-waltz, and milonga.
They offer a clear progression of courses. Beginners start with the beginner course (group A), which runs 8 lessons once a week and covers fundamental elements: pair contact (leading and following), walking technique, rotations, and basic figures. After that, you move to the beginner-plus course (group B), a 3-month course that builds awareness of your own body—balance, balanceo, dissociation, musicality—and introduces new elements like sacada and bloqueo. The intermediate course (group C) follows, and the advanced course (group D) is open to those with at least a year of regular study (minimum twice weekly). The advanced group focuses on technique refinement, close embrace, shared comfort, improvisation, and non-standard figures. They also run a one-day intensive workshop covering basics in a single session (18:30–21:45).
Thematic workshops on tango technique are available, plus individual lessons and a vinyl video tango course. The school accepts both couples and solo participants; for solo registrations they balance male and female numbers. You don't need prior dance experience, and you don't need a partner to join—rotation happens during class.
The basic beginner course costs 350 zł for 6 lessons paid upfront; the beginner-plus course is 430 zł per person for 8 lessons over 8 weeks; the one-day intensive is 190 zł.
