Tango por Tango, Clases de Tango

Tango por Tango is an Argentine tango school in central Madrid, run by instructors Alejandra Cappello and Javier Carrizo. The studio is located at Calle Argumosa 30 in the Lavapiés neighborhood, within walking distance of Atocha station and the Museo Reina Sofía. Cappello and Carrizo are Argentine tango dance professionals with recognized careers in the form.

The school offers three main class formats. Group classes maintain small, balanced groups so you can dance, learn and socialize from your first session — no partner is required. Private sessions are available for rapid progress, focused technical work, or learning at your own pace. The studio also runs special workshops and seminars on musicality, interpretation, and both traditional and modern Argentine tango.

You'll work on technique, posture, rhythm sense and your own style within the dance. The school emphasizes that learning happens in a welcoming, family-like atmosphere where instructors and other students receive you openly. Classes are taught at a venue called El Estudio de Actores. The studio positions itself as committed to the authentic roots and essence of Argentine tango, using clear, accessible teaching methods.

Beyond the classes themselves, Tango por Tango creates space for a living community: friendships and connections form among students who go on to dance together at the city's milongas. The school also offers tango for weddings (Tango Boda) and online classes. Teaching here is done with attention to personal development—tango practice builds confidence, improves posture and develops non-verbal communication skills.

You'll arrive at a small group or private lesson in a welcoming space. No partner is needed for group classes. Instructors Alejandra and Javier guide you through technique, posture and musicality in an accessible, close teaching style designed to build your confidence from the first session.
