About this studio

Tangospirer is a learning community for people aged 15–30 in Copenhagen who want to dance Argentine tango. The group meets every Monday from 20:00 to 23:00 at Lysthuset, Kulturhuset Islands Brygge, for workshops, knowledge-sharing, and social dancing.

The community is built on four principles: fællesskab (togetherness), passion, udvikling (development), and helhed (wholeness). Everyone learns both to lead and to follow, which deepens understanding of the dance and doubles the fun on the floor. You don't need prior experience — each Monday session includes an introduction class. The mood is relaxed and open; the community creates the space together, with members contributing snacks, ideas, energy, and good humour.

Tangospirer positions itself as a growth space for a new generation of tango dancers. Members can develop as dancers, performers, teachers, event organisers, or board members. The community actively organises its own events beyond the weekly Monday sessions — members are encouraged to create anything from intensive training and trips to festivals, courses, parties, and outings.

The team leading Tangospirer includes founder Claus Springborg and chair Theresa Faragó, alongside instructors Hjalte Hald Jensen, Harris Lampadaris, Camilla Tvede Colding-Jørgensen, Miamanda Bovin, Cornelius Corneliussõn, Nina Westh Petersen, and Giulia Spinnl. Members report the teaching is warm and the atmosphere genuinely uplifting — a place where any kind of day gets better in good company.
