About this studio
YA Salsa Social Detroit hosts the metro area's largest salsa dance party on the last Sunday of every month, from 5:30 to 10:00 pm ET. For $15 at the door, you get entry to a beginner salsa class and a wildcard class, both starting at 5:30 pm, plus endless beverages and snacks. The venue features two huge wooden dance floors — one for the salsa room and one for the BKZ room — with music spun by volunteer DJs.
Each month brings guest instructors from across the region. Recent events have featured Charlie & Scarlett from New York and instructors from Parker-Viva Dance Studio in Cleveland, Ohio. Beyond the classes, the evening includes pro guest artists, performances, live band performances, and workshops, all included in your entry fee. A cash bar is available for additional drinks.
The social is all ages, with free admission for children under 16. If you bring two new guests with you, you get in free. The venue is the Polish American Cultural Center at 2975 East Maple Rd, Troy, Michigan. Special events include the YA Holidays & 23 Anniversary Social in December, which features a live band performance and awards like the Jimmy Daniels prize for free admission to YA socials for one year.
