Natasha Wang

Natasha Wang is a pole-dance artist, teacher, competition judge, and movement educator whose career transformed the form's standing as both athletic discipline and expressive practice. She entered pole dance as an adult in her thirties, without a prior background in dance or gymnastics—a trajectory she has made central to her public teaching identity, positioning pole as accessible to those without conventional movement résumés.

Before pursuing pole full-time, Wang trained in advertising and French at the University of Texas and spent approximately nine years in public relations. Her competitive breakthrough came in California and United States events between 2010 and 2011. She was USPDF West Coast Champion in 2010, California Pole Dance Champion and East Meets West Miss Pole-AM title holder that same year, and won the US Pole Dance Championship in 2011—the achievement that prompted her to leave her PR career and pursue movement professionally.

Wang's international reputation expanded through placements at major pole events. She was runner-up at Pole Art in 2012 and won the International Pole Championship Ultimate Champion title in 2013. The US Pole Championships also credits her with the 2018 IPC Pole Art title. Since 2011, she has developed a sustained touring and teaching practice across continents, while also serving as a competition judge.

As a pedagogue, Wang emphasizes transitions, musical phrasing, creative choice, and sustainable training alongside strength and inversion work. Her teaching foregrounds connection and expressive authenticity. In recent years, she has expanded into Poletica Movement, an on-demand platform centered on movement education, positioning her less as a retired athlete than as an ongoing interpreter of pole's artistic vocabulary and a guide for emerging practitioners.
