Salvatore Todaro

Salvatore Todaro is a Bulgarian International Standard dancer and WDSF-certified adjudicator whose competitive partnership with Violeta Yaneva reached the 2013 WDSF World DanceSport Championship final in Kyiv. His documented career in competitive ballroom spans two decades, followed by sustained involvement in federation governance and event organization.

Todaro's earliest recorded partnership was with Monica Haller, representing Ukraine from 2000 to 2001. In 2002, he began dancing with Violeta Yaneva as an Adult Professional couple under Bulgarian representation, a pairing that would define his competitive years. Throughout the 2010s, Todaro and Yaneva competed in major WDSF events: they appeared in round four of the 2011 GrandSlam Standard in Stuttgart and the 2011 World Standard championship, and danced Quickstep in the 2012 GrandSlam Final Standard in Shanghai. The partnership's highest documented achievement came in 2013, when they qualified for the World Championship final in Kyiv, dancing both Tango and Waltz in the championship rounds.

Todaro retired from competitive dancing in 2016, the same year he received his WDSF adjudicator license following completion of General Knowledge Training in 2015. He holds A-level qualifications across Standard, Latin, and Ten Dance categories. His transition from athlete to official reflects a broader arc common among elite dancers: after stepping back from competition, he moved into the governance structures that sustain the sport. In 2023, WDSF records identified Todaro and Yaneva as organizers of a competition in Varna, Bulgaria, that drew 134 couples—evidence of their continued stewardship in the ballroom community.
