Bachata Corazon runs Australia's biggest weekly bachata social every Tuesday night at The Space Dance & Arts Centre on Chapel Street. The evening runs from 6pm to midnight, starting with five levels of classes between 6:15pm and 9pm, followed by social dancing from 9pm until midnight. This structure means you can take a class matched to your level, then immediately dance with the community.
Classes span from complete beginners to advanced dancers. The free Bachata Introduction class at 6:15pm every Tuesday is designed for first-time dancers—you'll learn basic steps, turns, and partner work with no experience needed. The Beginner class at 7pm (8–12 weeks before progressing) builds essential holds, steps and turns. Social Moves at 8pm teaches fun social techniques you can use straight away on the dance floor. Intermediate Sensual at 7pm requires at least 8 months of regular dancing and develops wraps, connection, frame and whole-body movements. Advanced Bachata at 8pm is by invitation or assessment and covers complex patterns requiring existing knowledge of leading, following, isolations and timing.
Thursday nights feature Fast Track Workshops: 1.5-hour intensive small-group sessions (7pm–8:30pm) for dancers with 2–6 months' experience who want to accelerate their Bachata Sensual technique. These are currently on hold but are held at Dance World Studios, South Melbourne.
Friday nights bring Corazon Friday Night—Melbourne's newest Salsa & Bachata social with reggaeton, running until 3am with a free class to start. The studio also hosts special events throughout the year: the Carla y Sergio Weekender (August 29–30) brings Spanish instructors for an intensive weekend on social dancing, and the Bachata Corazon Anniversary Festival in January 2027 runs for six days with intermediate and advanced classes and continuous dancing. Membership options start from $15 per week, with beginner class memberships from $25 per week and 6-month plans offering VIP access and free drinks.

Your first visit
Tuesday nights at The Space Dance & Arts Centre: arrive by 6:15pm for your class level, learn for around 45 minutes in a structured group, then stay for social dancing with live music from 9pm to midnight.
