Fuego Dance School opened in autumn 2021 under the direction of Mikael Deskalou and Irina Kurochkina. The studio's primary focus is Bachata Sensual, taught across multiple levels adapted for everyone from complete beginners to experienced dancers. The school is built on a passion for dance's ability to unite people and express emotion, positioning itself as a place for community, joy and personal development.
What sets Fuego apart is their use of helper instructors in classes to provide more personal feedback. The school places strong emphasis on technique and understanding the fundamental principles of dance, rather than teaching choreography alone. Courses combine theory and practice, giving students deeper understanding of movement. The teaching approach prioritises real progress over showmanship, in a safe, unpretentious environment.
The weekly schedule runs Monday through Sunday, with classes structured by level. Monday offers Level 4 Teknik, Level 4 and Footwork sessions with Mikael and Josefine. Tuesday includes Level 1 (beginners), Advanced Foundation and Level 2. Wednesday covers Level 3 and Level 3 Teknik, plus a Rolerotation Beginners class. Thursday features Raminta's Styling and a closed Level 5 group (maximum 8 pairs). Sunday includes Level 5 Practice and a Guided Social Dance session lasting 100% Bachata, running from 15:00–18:00.
Course pricing offers flexibility: single courses at 1600 kr; two courses (most popular) at 2800 kr with 400 kr savings; three courses at 4000 kr with 800 kr savings and included Guided Social Dance; four courses at 5200 kr with 1200 kr savings; or five courses at 6400 kr with 1600 kr savings. Discounts are available: 10% student discount, 15% pair discount, and 35% half-course discount. Guided Social Dance can be booked separately at 150 kr solo or 200 kr per pair, with 50% discount for Fuego members. Summer bootcamps run in August across multiple levels, combining technique and combinations work.
