About this studio
Bachata Room Boston started in 2017 with a simple idea: what if learning to dance felt less like a class and more like a night out with friends? Every Wednesday at 9:00 pm, they kick off with a beginner-friendly class in Bachata, Salsa, or Kizomba, taught step by step at your pace. No partner needed, no experience required. After class, the floor opens up for social dancing so you can practice everything you just learned in a real, live setting.
The space is located at 450 Massachusetts Ave in Cambridge, inside La Fábrica Central Restaurant, right off the Red Line at Central Square. The venue is easy to get to and easy to park near. $15 gets you the class plus 2 hours of social dancing. 18+ to dance, 21+ to drink. Walk-ins are always welcome.
Bachata itself is a romantic partner dance from the Dominican Republic, danced to guitar-based music with a simple four-step rhythm and signature hip movement. At Bachata Room Boston, they teach traditional, modern, and sensual styles while staying connected to the dance's Dominican roots. The basic steps are simple and easy to follow, even if you have never danced before. Most students feel comfortable with the basics after a few classes, and with consistent practice, you can be a very skilled social dancer within a few months.
The community is warm and welcoming. Whether you're coming solo, with friends, or on a first date, you'll fit right in. Their Amazing DJs keep you on the dance floor throughout the night, and they're part of Boston's biggest dance community, which makes it an excellent place to socialize and make new friends while learning.
