About this studio
Ballroom Magic Dance Center is run by Dennis Mullis, who has been teaching ballroom dancing in Chattanooga since 1976, when he started as an instructor for Arthur Murray Studio. The studio teaches Waltz, Cha-cha, Rumba, Mambo, Salsa, Foxtrot, Tango, Bolero, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Quickstep, Viennese Waltz, Hustle, and more across all levels.
The studio serves three main paths: social dancing, wedding preparation, and competitive ballroom and Latin dancing. If you want to dance socially, they teach everything you need to become a great social dancer. If you're preparing for your wedding, they work with you and your wedding party to create a memorable day. If competitive dancing interests you, they prepare you to master the technique needed for competitions and showcases.
Group classes run throughout the week, and private lessons are available by appointment. The studio also offers special private and group dance lessons at other locations by appointment. They offer class passes and activities passes to help you save money, and gift certificates are available for purchase.
The location is at 2255 Center St, Suite 100, Chattanooga, TN 37421, near I-75 and Shallowford Road. There is abundant free and close parking. Dennis and his staff are versatile across all areas and levels of social and competitive ballroom, Latin, and swing dancing.

Instructors
Who teaches here
Dennis Mullis, the owner and lead instructor, has been teaching ballroom since 1976 and has won numerous awards for his teaching and performance. He also teaches at Chattanooga State Technical College. Linda Hong, who started teaching ballroom in 1972 at Arthur Murray in Chattanooga and later opened The Dance Floor studio, teaches at Ballroom Magic Dance Center. Jacob Grabowski has been teaching ballroom since 2019 and has won first place in competitions including Dancing with the King in Tupelo, Mississippi, specializing in Rumba, Cha Cha, East Coast Swing, Waltz, Tango, and Foxtrot. Kira Vassilev has been dancing since 2018 and has focused on learning to instruct since 2023, with a passion for connection and movement through dance.

Dennis Mullis has been teaching ballroom dancing in Chattanooga since 1976, when he became an instructor for Arthur Murray Studio. He later opened Ballroom Magic Dance Center as an independent studio. Several instructors, including Linda Hong, also have roots in the Arthur Murray studio system in Chattanooga and Atlanta.
