About this studio
Brussels Dance Project teaches Salsa, Bachata, Lindy Hop, Solo Jazz, Flamenco, Sevillanas, Forró and African dances. The school has rebranded from its original name, the Brussels Salsa Project, and now serves a broader rhythm community across Latin, swing and African styles.
The studio runs classes Monday to Wednesday, 18:30–22:00 (Wednesday ends at 21:30). You can train at their Center location on Rue Brialmont 7 in Brussels, at their Ixelles venue on Avenue Adolphe Buyl 87, or outdoors during summer months in Parc du Cinquantenaire. Classes focus on fundamentals and practice, designed to help you dance with others and feel confident at social events.
Flamenco classes explore iconic styles throughout the year, including Sevillanas, Tangos, Alegrías, Soleá, Buleríası́, Fandangos, Rumba Flamenca, Tientos, Guajiras, Farruca and Siguiriyas. Forró is presented as a partner dance from Northeastern Brazil with close embrace and playful steps. African Dances draw from traditional West African and Mandingo traditions, covering styles like Jankadi, Makuru, Dununba, Soli, Mandiani, Djolé, Maane and Konkoba. The school also offers African Percussions classes.
Beyond classes, Brussels Dance Project runs regular parties where you can dance with instructors and fellow students. They partner with venues including Bellevue Bar at the MEININGER Hotel, Le Réservoir Bar, QG Usquare.brussels, KFK Hope, and larger events at Carré in Willebroek. Party formats often include opening workshops (Salsa, Bachata or footwork/shines) followed by curated music—typically 80% Salsa LA/On1/in line and 20% Bachata. The school also hosts social dancing at Open Air in Parc du Cinquantenaire, Cartagena, Sí o No and Plein Publiek.
The philosophy is explicit: "if you can walk, you can dance." You rotate partners, no partner needed. Come as you are in comfortable clothes that allow sliding on a wooden floor. The studio emphasises a welcoming, international and fun atmosphere with passionate instructors. Gift cards and vouchers are available.
