About this studio
Caterina Grudtsina runs a ballet and flamenco school in the Galerías Goya Shopping Center in central Málaga. She is the instructor for all classes and has been teaching for over 30 years. Since 2023, she has been a member of UNESCO's International Dance Council, which means students who wish to pursue it can receive a prestigious worldwide-recognised certificate in ballet studies.
Classes run for 45 minutes each, with groups kept deliberately small — a maximum of 7 people, though typically 3–5 attend. This keeps classes highly personalised. Caterina has developed a method over her 30 years of teaching that achieves results without harsh training. The room is small and welcoming, and each class consists of continuous, precise movement with minimal lengthy explanation.
She teaches ballet and flamenco to both children and adults, with separate classes for each group. There are also adult stretching classes. Her approach adapts ballet steps to suit any age and level. Each class includes exercises and stretches designed to develop flexibility, balance, coordination and endurance. She emphasises that after a single class you notice a pleasant sense of wellbeing and toned muscles; after 7–10 classes, noticeable improvement in flexibility and coordination. Classes can help lower blood pressure, improve circulation, reduce stress and fatigue, and boost energy.
Caterina's students report that what they most value is the sense of calm and relaxation they feel upon entering the room. The studio is located within a shopping centre, so you can combine a class with shopping or walks around Málaga, with cafés nearby to reward yourself afterwards. A trial class is available.
