About this studio
Chicago Tango Club (CTC) is an Argentine Tango studio at 4519 W Patterson in Chicago, sponsored by Second City Trolley. Its stated purpose is to promote the expression of feelings through dancing Argentine Tango, to bring young people closer to the rich culture of the dance, and to expand Argentine Tango in Chicago.
The club values building a community that welcomes dancers of all levels and experience, united by a desire to learn and be immersed in the dance. Offerings run throughout the week and include group classes, private lessons, practice milongas, and special workshops.
What to expect
Your first visit
New dancers are welcome at any level. A typical entry point is the Tuesday beginner tango class (7:30-8:30pm), followed by an open practica (8:30-9:30pm) that you can join with or without a partner. Sunday sessions are Groupon-only private lessons by appointment, so call ahead to schedule. The space holds 40-60 dancers and is air-conditioned and heated with a sound system.
