Clases de Tango

Clases de Tango is run by Marcela Lavorato, an instructor trained at the Universidad del Tango under directors Rodolfo and Gloria Dinzel. She has completed extensive study including courses in tango music, body awareness, milonga technique, tango history, and mindfulness, with recent training (2024–25) in Taichi, musical interpretation, and contemporary pedagogy. Her teaching draws on decades of professional experience.

Classes are held at Lambaré 990 in Villa Crespo. The studio offers group classes on Thursdays at 19:10, private sessions any day including weekends, and monthly special workshops on Mondays at 18:00. Teaching covers abrazo (closed-frame position), musicality, rhythm interpretation, improvisation, and technique grounded in movement mechanics and dynamics. All levels are welcome, from absolute beginners to advanced dancers.

Lavorato teaches both traditional and milonguero styles and works with dancers learning either the leader or follower role. She specializes in preparing students for the Buenos Aires milonga circuit, including codes and etiquette. The practice sessions focus on the closed embrace and key concepts for dancing at traditional porteño milongas. Private and semi-private formats allow personalised programmes tailored to individual needs.

Beyond studio classes, Lavorato runs an accompaniment service to the milonga circuit, letting students experience social tango in their chosen role. She has taught at cultural centres, hostels, schools for the blind, and special education facilities, and regularly performs at public exhibitions and private events across the city. Gift cards are available for classes, online or in-person.

The studio also welcomes international visitors and tourists seeking an immersive tango experience outside tourist channels, with classes designed for those discovering Argentine culture or building confidence before attending a milonga independently.

First-timers are welcomed; the emphasis is on understanding technique and preparing for social tango.

She continues professional development in musicality, body awareness, and tango pedagogy.
