About this studio

CONNECT Bristol XSUK operates two locations across Bristol: Connect Studio in St Jude's (Unit 2 White Street, BS5 0TS) and The Hideout at The Green House in Bedminster (Hereford Street, BS3 4NA). Both are purpose-built spaces run by Xquisite Spaces UK, a women-led business founded in 2020 by Louise Fitzgerald, a qualified personal trainer and weight-lifting coach.

Connect Studio is the original venue and the largest of the two spaces, featuring a 10 x 10m open studio with a 24ft x 6ft mirror wall, surround sound system, two changing rooms, accessible toilet, and comfortable seating area. It can accommodate 30+ for movement classes, 20–25 for mat-based exercise, and up to 100 standing or 100 seated. The Hideout, recently refurbished, offers an 8.3 x 9.3m open studio with an 19ft x 6ft mirror wall, sensory lighting, sound system, natural daylight, access to an outside area, seating and storage, and accessible toilets. It holds 25 for movement, 18–20 for mat-based exercise, and up to 100 standing or seated.

Both venues host a range of dance and fitness classes run by independent instructors, including Shan's Studio (kids and adult dance classes on Mondays at Connect) and Move with JQ (open choreography class on Mondays at The Hideout). Classes are booked directly with instructors rather than through the venues. The spaces are used for dance and movement classes, fitness classes, workshops, group rehearsals, photoshoots and filming.

Xquisite Spaces is deeply committed to inclusivity and accessibility. Both venues are ground-floor, wheelchair-accessible, and family and child-friendly. They actively support breastfeeding mothers, celebrate LGBTQ+ identity as a safe space, and have policies including an Etiquette in the Workplace Policy and Safer Space Policy. The team includes Bethany (Operations Coordinator, a dancer from Oxfordshire), Poppy (Social Media & Marketing Manager, a dancer and artist from Bath), and Iris (Assistant Operations Coordinator, a dancer and teacher from Tenerife with five years' teaching experience in Bristol). No membership is required; you can attend individual sessions or book the spaces for events and projects.

Studio history

Xquisite Spaces UK was founded by Louise Fitzgerald in 2020, starting just as the summer lockdown ended. Fitzgerald stepped back during that time to reimagine what she wanted to create—a space where people could feel part of something meaningful and reconnect with their community. Connect Studio has been at White Street for five years; The Green House opened in November 2025 in Bedminster.
