About this studio
Hype Dance Company is an award-winning urban dance studio for children and young people. The company's mission is to use dance and movement to help young people excel. Classes run weekly throughout the year, apart from a six-week summer break, and operate with an open-door policy so new dancers can join at any time.
Classes are split by age: primary school children (ages 5–11) meet 6pm–7pm on Wednesdays, while teens and young adults (12+) have their own session from 7pm–8pm. Cost is £8 per class, paid weekly on the door via card, contactless payment, or exact cash. New starters can begin any Wednesday, as each class features new routines; there is no need for a trial class beforehand.
Classes are 'closed classes', meaning parents do not sit in during sessions. This approach creates a more comfortable environment for students to progress and be themselves. The studio is based at Trinity Centre, Trinity Road, St Jude's, Bristol, a historic Grade II* Listed building that houses a range of community arts activities.
What to expect
Your first visit
Drop in any Wednesday at 6pm (ages 5–11) or 7pm (ages 12+). Classes are closed, so you will work independently in a supportive environment. Pay £8 on the door by card, contactless, or exact cash.
