About this studio

Cph4water is a non-profit organisation teaching Cuban Salsa, Bachata and Yoga in Copenhagen. Every penny from classes and events goes to WaterAid to fund water and sanitation projects worldwide. Since 2016, cph4water has donated more than DKK 555,000 to the cause.

Classes run on Sundays at Idrætsfabrikken in Vesterbro. All sessions are drop-in with no partner or registration required. Salsa follows the Cuban style, centred on rueda de casino, covering footsteps, partner work and special rueda moves across four levels: FREE Basics at 13:00, Beginners at 14:00, Improvers at 15:00, and Intermediates at 16:00. Bachata focuses on the sensual style with emphasis on footwork, body movement and partner connection, with FREE Basics at 14:00, Beginners at 14:30, Practice at 15:30, and Improvers at 16:00.

Every Sunday at 13:00, cph4water runs special workshops tied to dance, yoga and movement. The 2026 Spring season runs January to June, with workshops including Salsa con Rumba, Salsa Caleña, Fitness, Contemporary Dance and Paso Madrid (Bachata).

The organisation runs free Wednesday socials when in season, beginning with an intro class (Salsa or Bachata) at 19:30 and social dancing from 20:15 to 22:30. You can also book cph4water teachers for private events—birthdays, bachelorette parties, company functions—with choreography or yoga tailored to your needs.

Cph4water is 100% volunteer-run. Teachers, DJs and staff receive no payment; all are drawn by a shared love of dance, community and the cause. The 2024 board includes Miriam (Bachata), Troels (Salsa), Maja (Yoga) and others leading the organisation's work across fundraising, partnerships and operations.

Studio history

Cph4water is part of 4Water, an international volunteer network founded in 2009 by a University of Glasgow student. The first project, Salsa4Water Glasgow, raised money for WaterAid by teaching Cuban Salsa to university students. Since then, 4Water projects have spread across 10 European cities and engaged over 200 volunteers. The Copenhagen chapter operates under the same principles: 100% of profits to charity, volunteer-only staff, and a commitment to inclusive, community-centred dance.
